Our Story
In picturesque Podgora, nestled on the beautiful coastline, lies Taverna "Borak" – a place where history, authenticity, and Dalmatian hospitality live in perfect harmony. The story of this restaurant begins back in 1901, when under the careful guidance of the Sisarić family, the tavern first opened its doors.
Throughout its decades of existence, "Borak" has witnessed turbulent historical changes. During communist rule, the house was nationalized, temporarily halting the original family's continuity. A new page was written in 2000, when the house returned to private hands – the Sambrailo family, who has lovingly preserved this rich heritage ever since.
Their dedication preserves the spirit of times past, offering every guest the warmth of family tradition and a touch of genuine history.
